        “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:27-29)

        WELCOME to the month of February, 2024. Our focus for the month is: “Walking in the Fear of the Lord” (Hebrews 12:28-29).

        I decree and declare that the zeal to serve God reverently shall fall upon us this Month. As we passionately serve Him with fear and reverence, He shall not withhold any good thing from our lives in Jesus Name. We shall be blessed and preserved throughout this Month of February, in Jesus Name.

        One of the major challenges in our society today is the lack of the fear of God. This is one of the reasons why there is so much decadence in our cities and nations today. Our society is bewildered with all manner of vices such as armed robbery attacks, kidnapping, ritual killings, hired assassins, money laundering etc.

        Unfortunately, there is a shortage of the fear of God in the churches too. The Bible says, “There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:18).

        When we choose to fear the Lord, we will richly be blessed (Psalm 112:1-10) and our churches, our nations and the works of our hands shall grow and prosper. The Spirit of God is the Spirit of the fear of the Lord and our God delights in the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2-3)

        What is the Fear of the Lord?

        The fear of the Lord is a deep-seated reverence for God that cause men to want to please Him above everything at all costs. The Bible says, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:28-29).  This reverence and awe is what the fear of God means for Christians.

        Fear of God is to hear His Word and obey His commandments (Psalm 112:1; Deuteronomy 6:2; Ecclesiastes 12:14).  Abraham proved that he feared God by not withholding his only son in obedience to God’s voice. God Himself testified, “Now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me” (Genesis 22:12).

        To fear God is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and forward mouth (Proverbs 8:13). Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24). Enoch walked with God for three hundred and sixty-five years in the fear and awe of God. He so much walked with God, that God Himself took him. What a legacy for the Christian faith! A true Christian is one who behaves himself as a Christian and live in the fear and awe of God when no one is watching him.

        Scriptural Examples of Men Who Walked in the Fear of the Lord:

        1. Abraham: He proved that he feared God by not withholding his only son, in obedience to God’s voice (Genesis 22:12);

        2. Noah: Being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house: (Hebrews 11:7);

        3. Enoch: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24);

        4. The Midwives: The Midwives feared God and refused to carry out the commandment of the King of Egypt, but saved the men children alive (Exodus 1:17-21);

        5. Job: He was a man who lived upright, perfect and one that feared God, and eschew evil (Job 1:1);

        6. Jacob: He served In Laban’s house for 20 years and did not cheat nor take any of Laban’s livestock because he feared God (Genesis 31:38-42);

        7. Joseph: He refused to lie with his master’s wife (Genesis 39:9);

        8. Cornelius: A devout man, and one that feared God with all his household, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway (Acts 10:1-2).

        The Blessings of the Fear of the Lord:

        1. The fear of the Lord tendeth to life (Proverbs 19:23)

        2. The fear of the Lord makes you to depart from evil (Proverbs 16:6)

        3. The fear of the Lord brings preservation (Psalm 33:16; Proverbs 14:26)

        4. The fear of the Lord is the fountain of life (Proverbs 13:14)

        5. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him (Psalm 25:14)

        6. The fear of the Lord facilitates the Ministry of angels for our deliverance ((Psalm 34:7)

        7. The fear of the Lord brings wisdom and knowledge (Psalm 110:10; Proverbs 1:7)

        8. The fear of the Lord makes you to be humble (Proverbs 8:13)

        9. The fear of the Lord is the secret of long life ((Proverbs 10:27)

        10. The fear of the Lord brings riches and honour (Proverbs 22:4)

        11. The fear of the Lord is the secret of the Anointing (Psalm 45:7; Hebrews 1:9)

        12. The fear of the Lord is the secret of grace and ease (Genesis 6:8)

        Prayers:

        1. Pray that the fear and awe of God fall upon us and our families (Revelation 11:11)

        2. Pray that fresh fire, zeal and passion for the fear of God be upon the churches and our nations that it shall occasion genuine repentance and willingness in our hearts to do God’s will (Isaiah 6:1-8)

        3. Pray that with the fear of God in our hearts, we shall obey Him promptly (Genesis 22:12; Hebrews 11:7)

        Prophesies:

        * I decree and declare that the grace and passion to walk in the fear of the Lord shall be our portion throughout this month and in our life time on Earth, in Jesus Name.

        * I decree that as we walk in the fear of the Lord, every blessing that is occasioned by the fear of the Lord shall be our portion, in Jesus Name

        Happy New Month!
