David Daser

WHEN President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed David Daser as Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) on August 21, 2024, it was not just another administrative posting, it was a strategic decision grounded in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the President’s enduring belief in the power of the Nigerian youth.

President Tinubu has consistently maintained that over 60% of Nigeria’s population consists of young, vibrant, and innovative minds, and that the future of national development must be built upon their energy, intellect, and creativity. In Daser, the President saw a reflection of that youthful dynamism one of the bright, homegrown talents from Nigeria’s technology ecosystem, possessing both the competence and courage to deliver on the nation’s digital transformation mandate.

Since assuming office, David Daser has justified that confidence with uncommon vigour and visible results. Barely a year into his stewardship, he has distinguished himself as one of the most reform-minded leaders in the digital development space. His restless energy, political dexterity, and administrative precision have repositioned DBI from a modest training institute into a national powerhouse for digital innovation, youth empowerment, and institutional rebirth.

In tangible terms, his leadership has produced measurable results. Within a year, DBI has recorded a significant increase in digital skills training across its campuses, with new partnerships established with local and international bodies to expand access to ICT education. The Institute has also embarked on campus revitalisation projects, improved digital infrastructure, and introduced innovation labs and e-learning platforms designed to enhance the quality and reach of its programmes.

A man of political mettle and administrative depth, Daser embodies the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda a philosophy that transforms ideas into action and aspirations into achievements. He understands that leadership is not about occupying office but about creating sustainable impact, and he has set a strong example through his hands-on reforms across DBI’s campuses nationwide.

Under his watch, DBI has witnessed a silent yet profound revolution. Internal structures have been strengthened, staff morale reinvigorated, and the Institute’s training programmes modernised to reflect emerging trends in digital literacy, cybersecurity, fintech, artificial intelligence, and ICT policy innovation. Through his forward-thinking leadership, DBI has renewed collaborations with government institutions, regulatory agencies, and private sector players, positioning itself as a vital engine for Nigeria’s digital economy.

At the heart of his leadership lies a passionate conviction: Nigeria’s destiny rests on her youth. True to that belief, Daser has made youth empowerment through digital literacy a cornerstone of DBI’s operations. His initiatives have opened new learning pathways and created opportunities for thousands of young Nigerians to acquire critical 21st-century skills needed to thrive in the global digital economy.

His political sensitivity and pragmatic approach have also made him an asset to the Tinubu administration’s governance vision. Daser understands that technology is not an end in itself but a tool for economic inclusion and national renewal, ideals that perfectly mirror President Tinubu’s long-standing commitment to empowering young Nigerians and building a future anchored on innovation and competence.

Colleagues and stakeholders describe David Daser as a leader who listens, learns, and leads with conviction. His humility, strategic insight, and unrelenting work ethic continue to inspire both staff and students of DBI, as well as the wider ICT community across the nation.

Through these efforts, David Daser has not only restored DBI’s relevance but also placed it firmly at the centre of Nigeria’s digital transformation journey. His leadership reflects a new generation of public sector excellence, youthful, focused, and passionately driven to deliver results.

As he marks his birthday on October 30th, we celebrate not just a man, but a movement, a story of vision meeting opportunity, and of youthful leadership redefining institutional legacy.

Happy Birthday, David Daser, a symbol of youthful excellence, a visionary reformer, and a driving force in Nigeria’s digital renaissance.
