THE Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed all commissioner-nominees recommended by Governor Hyacinth Alia for screening and confirmation.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Aondona Dajoh, put the question for the confirmation of the commissioner nominees one by one to the 32 members, seeking their consent and the House unanimously confirmed each commissioner-nominee.
Those screened and confirmed include:
- Mrs Joy Luga – Gboko
- Barr Omale Omale – Apa
- Yarmar Ortese – Guma
- Rev. Frederick Ikyaan – Gwer West
- Hon. Ogwu Odoh – Ogbadibo
- Hon. Kwaghgba Amande – Katsina Ala
- Mathew Abo – Ukum
- Itiza Imojime – Buruku
- Hon. Aondowase Kunde – Konshisha
- Prof. Moses Ogbaji – Oju
- Barr. Shaagee T Martin – Ushongo
- Hon. Mike Ogblegba – Otukpo
- Hon. Ann Itodo – Okpokwu
- Barr. Fidelis Mnyin – Makurdi
- Rt. Hon. Ikyange Terkimbir – Ushongo
- Nick Oworo- Obi, and
- Awuna Orpiin – Tarka
The speaker thanked members for sacrificing time from their recess to reconvene for the important assignment in the interest of the state. He called on the confirmed nominees found worthy by the governor to be commissioners to see their appointment as a call to duty to serve humanity above personal interest.
The house thereafter adjourned sitting till Wednesday, August 23 2023.
Governor Hyacinth Alia is now expected to fix a date for the swearing in of the confirmed commissioner-nominees.
