THE POLICE in Makurdi, Benue State, have come to the defence of two men alleged to have caused the disappearance of the penis of one young man, stating that the suspects’s alleged confession were extracted under duress.

The two men; Jude Tyokula and one Pastor Terna both of Deeper Life Bible Church, New Layout, Kanshio, Makurdi, Benue State, were caught by youths of the area for allegedly causing the disappearance of a young man’s penis.

Although Tyokula, who was stripped completely naked, confessed in a viral video that one Pastor Terna allegedly tasked him to remove people’s penises for him through prayers, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Sewuese Anene, said on Sunday that the suspect made the confessional statement under duress following too much torture on him by the area boys.

The PPRO revealed that the suspects were yet to be arrested by the police but efforts were being made towards that.

“I met these people this morning at B Division but when they narrated the story, it was pathetic. Someone will raise an alarm and group of youths who know nothing about what happened began to torture innocent people. This is inhuman and condemned [sic].

“According to them, a young man raised an alarm of theft of genital organ. The youth pickee [sic] up the closest person and beat him up till he decided to admit and mention his pastor as the person who sent him with hope that the pastor will come and save him. The youth got the same pastor and beat him up as well. Help came when the police got to know and rescued them. This [is] too bad.

“There is no element of truth in this. Since the history of these allegations, it has never been proven and complainants are usually advised that nothing is wrong with them.

“No arrest yet but there will be as efforts are in progress,” Anene said
