PAUL GYENGER, the social media activist and critic who was recently remanded for alleged assassination of the character of Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has been granted bail but yet to be released, National Record has reliably been informed.

Gyenger, who is a member of the Benue State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was arrested on August 22, 2023 over a comment he posted on his Facebook wall on August 18, 2023 alleging that Governor Alia diverted N2 billion of the subsidy palliative for Benue State to complete a N7 billion house project being built in Guzape, Abuja.

National Record gathered from a high-ranking state official of the PDP, who pleaded anonymity as he is not authorised to speak on the matter, that Gyenger was granted bail on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 but was yet to be released up till Wednesday afternoon for inexplicable reason. National Record however learnt that Gyenger was yet to meet bail conditions the court had imposed precedent to his freedom.
