THE POLICE in Lagos on Wednesday arraigned a businesswoman, Edna Udoko, 37, who allegedly beat up a woman and damaged her property worth over one million Naira.
The defendant, who resides at 2C Ogunaike St., Shangisha Magodo, Lagos State, is charged with conspiracy, assault and willful damage.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 14, 2023, at No. 32, Olayemi Oduntayo St., Shangisha, Lagos State.

Akeem said that the defendant and the complainant, Mrs Toyosi Adewale, disagreed over N300, and the defendant and others at large beat up the complainant and damaged her gold chain worth N900,000.
“The defendant also damaged her HP laptop valued at N210,000,” the prosecutor said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Feb. 5 for mention. (NAN)
