THE LABOUR Party (LP) senatorial candidate for the Nasarawa North bye-election, Mr Labaran Maku, has promised not to fail the people of the zone if elected.
Maku, a former Minister of Information, gave the assurance on Tuesday during a meeting of the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Wakama Branch in Akpata, Nassarawa Eggon LGA.
Maku said that he was determined to bring speedy development to the senatorial district if elected senator.
He said that he would empower and initiate people-oriented projects if given the opportunity.
The former Minister of Information took his time to outline his achievements while in office as a commissioner, deputy governor and minister.
He said that he has done well in the area of jobs, empowerment, and infrastructure, among others.
“I want to thank stakeholders, various groups, women, and youths for calling on me and supporting my aspiration. By God’s grace, I will not fail you if elected on June 20.
He urged eligible voters to come out en masse on June 20 and vote for him.
“I want to use this medium to call on the electorate to come out en masse and vote for me, and also protect your votes during the election,” he said.
The Labour Party senatorial candidate also urged the people to continue to live in unity and peace irrespective of their affiliations.
Earlier, Mr Bala Ewuga, the Chairman, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) Wakama Branch, said that the meeting was to discuss the development of the community. (NAN)
