        Becky Orpin Gets Double Portion As Benue Assembly Constitutes Standing Committees

        MEMBER representing Gboko East sate constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs Becky Orpin, who contested for speakership of the House but lost to Hon. Aondona Dajoh has been compensated with chairmanship two standing committees of the House.

        When the House constituted the membership of twenty-six (26) standing committees of the 10th Assembly yesterday, July 26, 2023, Becky Orpin was appointed to chair House committees on Appropriation as well as Women Affairs And Social Development.

        Others appointed to chair dual committees were Rt Hon. Cephas Dyako, member representing Konshisha constituency and Hon. Emberga Alfred, member representing Makurdi North constituency.

        The Assembly which embarked on recess after forming the standing committees to resume on August 22, 2023 at 10am also confirmed the appointment of Hon. Mrs Nongo Mercy Mrumun as Deputy Clerk of the House.

        Hon. Saater Tiseer is to chair Rules and Business standing committee with

        Hon. Cyril Ijebe Ikong, Rt Hon. Michael Audu, Hon. Yanmar Ortese, Hon. Peter B. Ipusu and Rt Hon. William Ortyom as members.

        House Service standing committee has Hon. Alfred Emberga as chairman while Hon. Terna Shimawua, Hon. Becky Orpin and Hon. Isaac Ochekliye are members.

        In the Public Petitions, Bills Reviews and Appraisal standing committee, Hon. Simon Gabo is chairman and Rt Hon. Godwin Edoh, Hon. Abu Umar and Hon. Alfred Emberga are members respectively.

        Public Accounts committee has Hon. Anthony Agom as chairman with Hon. Mathew Damkor, Manger Manger, Hon. Gyila Solomon, Hon. Anyor Matu and Hon. Alfred Emberga as members.
