MAKURDI Traders Union (MTU) has sworn in Comrade Terkimbi Ornguga, whose inauguration was allegedly put on hold by the caretaker chairman of Makurdi LGA, Hon. James Dwem, over an allegation that a petition was filed against him by an aspirant who willingly withdrew from the race when the ballot was about to be cast.
Comrade Ornguga told National Record that the Makurdi council boss ordered his inauguration to be done last Sunday without further delay and he was inaugurated alongside members of his executive council (Exco) at the Wurukum Market square.
The inauguration took place seven days after National Record‘s report which exposed underhand moves to truncate the victory by Orgunga at the election conducted on July 12, 2024. Orgunga scored 741 to floor his closest rival who polled 553.
Ornguga, a.k.a. Mose ‘B’, appreciated the media for being the voice of the voiceless, urging National Record to keep on playing its watchdog role.
He re-echoed his assurances to provide the welfare of Wurukum marketers and solicited their sustained support to enable him to succeed in the administration of the market.
