‘THE GUILT’, a faith-based movie that advocates the values of fidelity, forgiveness and effective communication in marriage, has premiered in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that filmmakers, actors, the clergy, film enthusiasts, as well as the cast and crew of the movie were present at the premiere over the weekend in Abuja.

The movie is a production of Crystal Fly Productions, directed by Emmanuel Eyaba, an award-winning Nollywood filmmaker.

Some cast and crew at the premiere of “The Guilt” in Abuja.

The star-studded film, produced by Pauline Idemudia, addresses how couples can successfully handle complex marital issues such as infidelity, past mistakes and communication problems using faith-based principles such as patience, forgiveness and humility.

It featured veteran Nollywood actors like Zack Orji, Benjamin Olaye, Prisma James, Pauline Idemudia, Ezz Samson and Evangelist Jerry among others.

Some thespians and crew members who spoke with NAN on the red-carpet lauded the film, describing it as a timely antidote to increasing marital issues.

Emmanuel Eyaba, Director of the film and Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), said that the film was conceived to give respite to people grappling with marital challenges.

“The Guilt tries to address the issue of a past that comes to hurt the present, especially if they were issues you are keeping from your spouses.

“It is about a young man who had a bad past, and was hiding it from his wife, but the past was somehow hunting him.

“His wife became the person who later helped him navigate through his challenge, and that is the whole idea about the story; that couples should learn to be open to their spouses.

“The film is expected to be available for moviegoers on YouTube by Nov. 2, and everyone needs to watch it to draw lessons from it,” Eyaba said.

The producer, Pauline Idemudia, said she was championing the production of faith-based films to foster spiritual growth of people and to also revive and sustain eroding family values in the society.

“The project is part of my vision to use faith-based films as a valuable tool for evangelism and discipleship, bringing godly teachings to a wider audience in an engaging way.

“This is the first movie that we produced to launch the Crystal Fly Productions, and it is a beautiful storyline that inspires the audience.

“If we truly want to create changes in the society as God’s children, we should not just sit down and complain in our homes.

“The Guilt is a family story and a powerful piece that speaks of forgiveness; it will inspire both the married and single persons,” Idemudia said.

Sydney Diala, foremost Nollywood actor and filmmaker said: “This is not just a film, but a valuable resource for spouses and unmarried persons that would reinforce core values, improve communication, and strengthen family bonds.” (NAN)
