BARELY three days after he was booted out of the National Assembly Quarters’ Mosque located at Zone E, Apo, Abuja, the Management Committee of a new Jum’mat Mosque behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Quarters, Abuja, quickly snapped up Sheikh Nuru Khalid to lead its congregation with effect from coming Friday, April 8, 2022.
Sheikh Khalid was first suspended on Saturday and then finally sacked on Monday by the mosque’s Steering Committee chaired by Senator Saidu Mohammed Dansandau for his excoriating sermon last Friday which focused on the deteriorating insecurity and general failure of leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari.
He described his sack by the National Assembly Quarters’ Mosque as a price he had to pay for speaking the truth and identifying with the suffering masses.
On his new appointment, Sheikh Khalid said: “By the Grace of Almighty Allah, I will be leading my new congregation this Friday, because as clerics we need a platform to operate.
“There’s a Jum’mat mosque we built behind the CBN Quarters, in Abuja; I will now be leading the congregation there.”
