THE NIGERIAN National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the appointment of two seasoned industry professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, to lead its corporate communications and relations departments.
In a move to bolster its strategic engagement and public outreach, the national energy company has named Mr. Odeh as its new Chief Corporate Communications Officer and Mrs. Adewunmi as Chief Relations Officer.
Mr. Odeh brings over thirty years of extensive experience in communications and business administration from the oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting sectors.
He joins NNPC Ltd. following a distinguished 26-year career at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he held a series of senior leadership positions. His most recent role was General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development.
His notable career achievements include managing NLNG’s corporate rebranding, implementing a highly successful micro-credit scheme for host communities, and instituting the prestigious NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting.
Mr. Odeh is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Mrs. Adewunmi, a legal professional, joins with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily from her tenure at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN).
She is recognized as an expert in stakeholder management, advocacy, and navigating complex regulatory environments.
At Shell, she held critical roles including Regulatory Affairs Manager, where she oversaw all mandatory regulatory engagements, and Government Relations Manager, where she built and maintained constructive relationships with the Presidency and various government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
She is a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.
The appointments of Mr. Odeh and Mrs. Adewunmi are said to reflect NNPC’s continued commitment to strengthening its communication frameworks and deepening its engagement with all stakeholders.
