“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His Covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18)

AS YOU journey into the month of August, I decree and declare that God shall give you power, abilities, ideas, wisdom, concepts, knowledge, innovation and creativity to make wealth in Jesus Name.

I pray that God shall empower your right hand economically and give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of the secret places throughout this Month in Jesus Name (Isaiah 45:1-3).

Introduction

God gives us power and ability (ideas, wisdom, concepts, innovation and creativity) to make wealth. The ability to get wealth lies with God.

If you want to make genuine wealth, first of all you must make God your source. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33)

Remembering God as your source of blessing will impact caution and action to how you live when God blesses you.

You must think about the expansion of His kingdom here on earth through giving of your Tithes, offering and other kingdom commitments.

God also want to establish his covenant of wealth with you and extend it to your generation.

Any wealth outside of God does not last. This is why you must remain in obedience and serve Him faithfully.

God also gives us wisdom to manage our wealth and multiply it.

Here are some biblical financial wisdom to secure your future and multiply your resources:

  • Living prudently
  • Investing wisely
  • Planning
  • Saving
  • Multiplying

How Christians Can Be Prudent and Save Money

What is prudence?

Prudence means being wise and careful in managing your resources. It’s a biblical virtue that involves foresight, self-control, and stewardship.

Biblical Principles for Prudence and Saving

1. Live within your means

Don’t spend more than you earn. Avoid debt where possible and avoid impulse buying. Don’t buy things that you don’t need per time. Proverbs 21:20 (NIV):

“The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.”

2. Distinguish Between Needs and Wants

Prioritize essentials (food, shelter, clothing, education) before luxuries. 1 Timothy 6:6–8 (NIV):

“But godliness with contentment is great gain… But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”

3. Have a Budget

Planning helps avoid waste and surprises. Luke 14:28 (NIV):

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost…?”

4. Save Consistently

Saving little by little leads to abundance. Proverbs 13:11 (NIV):

“Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.”

5. Avoid Waste and Embrace Simplicity

Jesus taught to gather leftovers after feeding the 5,000 (John 6:12).

Ways Christians Can Invest Wisely

Why Invest? Because relying solely on salary is risky. Investment allows your money to work for you over time, multiplying your income and ensuring financial independence.

Practical Investment Ideas:

1. Real Estate: Buying land or rental properties.

2. Small Businesses: Poultry, tailoring, catering, farming, storage and sell when the price appreciate.

3. Agriculture: Farming or cash crops.

4. Stocks & Mutual Funds: Start small, learn from experts.

5. Skill-Based Income: Writing, speaking, graphic design, online sales.

Biblical Guidance For Investing:

1. Diversify Your Income: Don’t depend on a single source. Ecclesiastes 11:2 (NIV): “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come…”

2. Avoid Greedy or Risky Schemes: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Proverbs 28:20 (NIV): “A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.”

3. Seek Godly Counsel: Involve trusted mentors or financial advisers. Also do a feasibility study of the kind of investment you are going into before you put in your resources. Proverbs 15:22 (NIV): “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”

4. Invest in God’s Work Too: Tithes, offerings, and supporting missions are also eternal investments. 2 Corinthians 9: 6–8

How to Learn Effectively

1. Be Teachable: Ask questions and listen. Proverbs 1:5 (NIV): “Let the wise listen and add to their learning…”

2. Observe Their Habits: Study how they budget, invest, or avoid waste.

3. Engage in Discipleship: Biblical mentorship includes life, spiritual, and financial counsel. Titus 2:2–7 (NIV): Older men and women are to guide the younger generation.

4. Read Christian Financial Books or Attend Seminars: Resources by Christian authors like Dave Ramsey, Crown Financial Ministries, God’s Will by Gloria Copeland and other financial resources from their ministries.

Being financially prudent and preparing for the future doesn’t mean you lack faith — it means you are wise and responsible. 3 John 1:2 (NIV): “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV): “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Counsel:

1. Trust God to Help You: “Trust the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6) Don’t lean on your own abilities, connection, expertise. Trust God to guide you in decision making and planning.

2. Prayer: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3). The place of prayer is the place of revelation and encounters. God will reveal strategies steps and ideas that will establish you.

3. Sow A Seed (2Corinthians 9:6-8): Sowing a seed of sacrifice is an act of faith. You are trusting God for the next phase of life and destiny you are not familiar with. By sow doing, you are telling God, I am handling over my future endeavours to you

There is dimension of God’s grace that abounds towards you when you understand the principles of seed sowing. I call it the power of sacrifice.

Key Thoughts:

1. Save diligently and spend wisely.

2. Invest ethically and diversify

3. Build other income streams outside salary.

4. Learn from others and mentors, and seek godly counsel.

Assignment:

– Ask God for the wisdom and abilities to make wealth this Month (Deuteronomy 8:18; Job 32:8)

– Ask God for the grace not to lean on your own abilities, certificates and connections, but to trust Him to bless you (Proverbs 3:5-6)

– Ask God to empower your right hand economically; to give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places (Isaiah 45:1-3).

– Ask God to reveal unto you the areas of investment (Daniel 2:19).

Prayer/Prophesies:

– I decree and declare that the heavens over you shall be opened throughout this Month; and God shall pour out His wisdom and ideas that shall cause you to create wealth in Jesus Name (Exodus 35:30-35; 36:1-2)

– I decree and declare that financial doors be opened unto you throughout this Month in Jesus Name.

– I decree and declare supernatural favour and opportunities that shall occasion abundance in your lives throughout this Month in Jesus Name (1Kings 18:41-46)

Happy New Month!
