PHOTOS of Iva Valley Bookshop located at the Paschal Bafyau Labour House, headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), emerged Thursday after a night’s raid by armed security men who were alleged to have carted away all the books from the shelves.
The pictures, which offered contrasting images of the bookshop before and after the raid, which, according to a press release by NLC’s spokesperson, Comrade Benson Upah, happened at about 8:30pm Wednesday, were shared with National Record Thursday evening.
While the pre-raid photo shows shelves fully stocked with books, the post-raid image said to had been taken Thursday portrayed the opposite after the shelves were cleaned out during the raid by security men.
National Record reported Wednesday evening following a tipoff by a Labour House source who witnessed the raid.
No explanation has yet been provided by the police or any security agency for the raid as at press time.
