A FORMER Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mr David Shikfu Parradang, has been killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Abuja.
A news report by online newspaper, The Conclave, quoted a counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, said Parradang was abducted in the Area 1 axis of Abuja in the early hours of Tuesday after being trailed from a bank he had withdrawn money.
The assailants reportedly took the cash from him before eventually killing him.
“The tragic incident has raised fresh concerns over security in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly regarding the increasing cases of kidnappings and targeted attacks,” The Conclave quoted Makama to have stated in a post.
Security agencies have reportedly launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abduction and killing, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
The Nigerian Immigration Service had yet to confirm the tragic development as of press time, but an official at Immigration headquarters in Abuja said it was true, The Conclave reported.
