A SENIOR Special Assistant (SSA) to Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has expressed frustration over what they described as poor working conditions, pointing out the absence of offices and official vehicles months after their appointments.

Speaking to National Record on condition of anonymity, the aide questioned the value of such appointments without adequate support to function effectively.

“Sometimes I wonder what’s the essence of the appointments because some of us don’t have offices, and we cannot properly engage our people since we lack the influence and resources that come with the job,” the SSA said.

The concern emerged on Monday, shortly after the governor announced fresh appointments into his administration.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia approved the appointments of Mr. Orkuma Adzua Ikyur as Principal Special Assistant on Forestry and Logging, and Mr. Onoja Michael Audu as Senior Special Assistant on Forestry and Logging.

According to the statement, the appointments form part of the administration’s drive to strengthen reforms and ensure effective management of the forestry and logging sector in the state.

The governor congratulated the new appointees and urged them to bring their experience and dedication to bear in the discharge of their duties.
