FRIENDS, under the aegis of ‘Committee of Friends’, have scheduled Wednesday, February 12, 2025 to host a symposium in honour of Dr. Kole Ahmed Shettima on his birthday anniversary.
Dr Shettima, who is the Africa Director of MacArthur Foundation, clocks 65 years.
The symposium, which will hold at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, Nigeria, is convened under the theme: “Role of Philanthropy in Strengthening Democracy in Africa”.
To deliver the lecture at the symposium is Ghanaian intellectual, Prof. Emmanuel Akwetey, Executive Director, Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), Accra, Ghana.
The symposium, which will be chaired by Prof. Kyari Mohammed, Vice Chancellor, Army University, Biu, Borno State, has as panellists Hillary Ogbonna of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Muhammad J. Kuna of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Comrade Ngozi Iwere, social activist and founder of Community Life Project, Lagos.
The Panel will be moderated by Comrade Kayode Komolafe, Deputy Managing Director, ThisDay Newspaper Ltd.
