MR. JAPHET Tersugh Gev, an admission officer at Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko, has died from injuries sustained in a suspected cult clash in Makurdi last Sunday.
The institution confirmed his death in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Relations Officer, Haainya Emmanuel A.
“The management, staff, and students of Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko, mourn the tragic loss of Mr. Japhet Tersugh Gev, our dedicated Admission Officer,” the statement read.
According to the release, Gev succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, while undergoing treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The statement concluded with a prayer: “May God grant him eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear this painful loss.”
Authorities have yet to confirm further details about the clash or possible arrests.
