KARU-SITE, a suburb in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Thursday and Friday had been engulfed by fear and commotion arising from alleged incidents of mysterious disappearance of male genital organs.
National Record had on Thursday witnessed a huge crowd following a mob action that pounced and beat to pulp an alleged ritualist accused of causing the mysterious disappearance of the penises of two persons.
The alleged ritualist, who was saved by a combined team of police personnel and local vigilante, was taken to the Karu Divisional Police Station along with the victims.

Asked if their organs had completely disappeared, both victims told National Record that their organs had bizarrely shrivelled when they came in contact with the alleged ritualist. They said they experienced a sensation as soon as the came in contact with the suspected ritualist at a shop in Karu where they had gone to buy something.
Asked if the organs had been returned since they suspect was arrested and brought to the police station, both victims said the organs were still not functioning normally and that they were not even able to normally urinate.
The police were still interrogating the suspect as at 5pm on Thursday when National Record left the station.
Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in the past three weeks, more than 10 people in Karu communities have allegedly lost their organs to suspected ritualists yet to be apprehended.
Some of the victims, Habib, Sanyoalu and Ibrahim, whose surnames were withheld, had alleged that they had contact with an unknown man, and suddenly their genitals shrunk.

According to them, it was so sudden and they stopped feeling their reproductive organs.
NAN correspondent, who visited the Karu Divisional Police Station, reports that the situation is not different as some victims came to report that their organs were missing after a handshake with a stranger.
The victims said the suspects were beaten and seriously injured before intervention of the police.
The victims said the suspect approached them at different times, asking for direction and that as soon as the suspects left them, they discovered their organ shrunk and they could no longer feel it.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mr Ogungbemi Igbekele, took the victims in company of other policemen to the Nyanya General Hospital, to check their organs and ascertain the allegation.

Igbekele said the case was not established since it had not been proven medically, adding that he would make sure that justice prevailed if the cases were true.
However, after thorough examination of the victims at the hospital, it was revealed by the doctors that the victims’ reproductive organs were intact and perfect, though the victims still claimed otherwise.
NAN reports that the suspect, whose name was also not mentioned, was in bad shape after being battered, received medical treatment before returning to the station. (NAN)
