THE DIGITAL Bridge Institute (DBI) and SBTS Nigeria Limited have finalized plans to boost digital infrastructure across Nigeria.

Details of the project’s plan include a state-of-the-art Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Center and a Security Operations Center (SOC) designed to train Nigerians and provide services to both public and private sectors.

Following a successful pilot phase at DBI’s Abuja headquarters, the initiative will expand to other locations, including Lagos, Kano, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states.

The project is expected to generate 1,050 jobs in Abuja and an additional 20,000 jobs nationwide in subsequent phases.

Strengthening Nigeria’s Digital Economy

During a pre-launch event and facility tour in Abuja, DBI’s President/CEO, Mr. David Daser, emphasized that the initiative represents more than just new infrastructure but also a testament to collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation.

“Our partnership with SBTS Group has enabled us to realize this vision, establishing a platform that will train, employ, and empower Nigerian youth in high-demand sectors such as outsourcing services and cybersecurity,” Daser stated.

He explained that the BPO Center aims to position Nigeria as a key player in the global outsourcing industry, while the SOC will enhance the country’s ability to combat cyber threats and secure national digital infrastructure.

Daser commended the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, as well as the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), for their support.

He also urged private sector stakeholders, particularly in the BPO industry, to leverage the facilities to boost Nigeria’s GDP.

SBTS Highlights Job Creation and Skills Development

Mr. Evelyn Lewis, CEO of SBTS Nigeria Limited, noted that the $150 million investment will support multiple sectors, including oil and gas, banking, healthcare, and cybersecurity.

He stated that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in youth empowerment and digital inclusion.

“At SBTS Nigeria, we are proud to introduce these centers under our Intelligent Capacity Building Model (ICBM), which integrates workforce development with real-time technological deployment,” Lewis said.

He added: “This facility is not just a physical structure but a catalyst for innovation, job creation, and national progress.”

The training program will be conducted in two phases: a three-month entry-level course and a six-month advanced program, ensuring participants acquire in-demand digital and cybersecurity skills.

A National Mission for Digital Growth

Both DBI and SBTS described the partnership as a “national mission” to unlock Nigeria’s human capital potential and drive a secure, sustainable digital economy.

The centers are expected to play a pivotal role in equipping young Nigerians with competitive skills while strengthening the country’s position in the global digital landscape.

This initiative marks a significant step in Nigeria’s journey toward technological advancement, job creation, and economic resilience.
