…Receives ITU Senior Digital Skills Officer
THE PRESIDENT and Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. David Daser, has reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to positioning Nigeria as a strong player in the global digital future.
A press release by Mr Soji Fagbemi, DBI’s Head of Public Affairs & Media Relations quoted Mr Daser to have stated this on Tuesday when he received the Senior Digital Skills Officer at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Ms. Robyn Fysh, at the DBI Headquarters in Abuja.
Fysh’s visit was part of the ITU’s efforts to strengthen the Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) at the Digital Bridge Institute and further deepen collaboration between the two institutions.
According to Daser, the partnership between DBI, the ITU and other government agencies and institutions is focused on expanding access to digital skills, strengthening institutional capacity and advancing digital transformation in Nigeria.
“Together with our partners at the ITU and across government, DBI is committed to turning this vision into measurable impact and positioning Nigeria to play an even stronger role in the global digital future,” Daser said.
He noted that the engagement with the ITU would further strengthen DBI’s capacity to deliver impactful digital skills and digital transformation programmes in Nigeria and across the African sub-region.
The DBI President described the partnership with the ITU as more than an institutional engagement, stressing that it represents a shared commitment to building a digitally empowered Nigeria.
“This partnership represents more than a visit; it is a shared commitment to building a digitally empowered Nigeria. By strengthening our institutions, expanding access to digital skills, and connecting people with opportunities, we can accelerate inclusive digital transformation and ensure that no one is left behind in the digital economy,” he said.
As part of the engagement, the ITU and DBI delegation is also expected to visit other supporting institutions within the Nigerian Government to explore opportunities for greater collaboration, coordination and the expansion of digital skills development initiatives.
The engagement underscores the continuing partnership between DBI and the ITU in supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda and strengthening the country’s capacity to participate more effectively in the global digital economy.
