DANGOTE Industries Limited is collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria, says Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group.
Speaking at the Dangote Special Day during the 2025 Nasarawa Trade Fair Exhibition in Lafia, Wali-Abdurrahman stated that the company’s partnership with the Nigeria Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Nasarawa State Chapter, is aimed at raising awareness and scaling up small businesses.
Represented by Hon. Dr. Shuaibu Abdullahi, the company’s National Assembly Liaison Lead, she reaffirmed Dangote Group’s commitment to working with both government and private sectors to support small business development.
She announced that the Aliko Dangote Foundation and the Bank of Industry (BoI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a N5 billion fund dedicated to supporting MSMEs nationwide.
This initiative is expected to create at least one million direct jobs by providing financial assistance to entrepreneurs in manufacturing, agro-processing, and the merchandising of locally made goods.
The MoU will benefit various micro-enterprises, including cassava processors, aluminum artisans, poultry farmers, calabash carvers, small traders, cattle rearers, vegetable sellers, market women, and artisan groups.
Additionally, Wali-Abdurrahman highlighted Dangote Group’s support for Jakura Marble Industry Ltd (JMIL) through electrification projects. She also noted that Dangote Fertiliser Limited has launched an extensive training programme for over one million farmers across Nigeria.
The programme, which includes spot demonstrations, field demonstrations, and soil sample collections, is designed to educate farmers on best practices in fertiliser application to improve crop yields and promote sustainable farming.
She emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering economic growth through initiatives such as sponsoring trade fairs, including the ongoing NASSI event, to provide MSMEs with platforms to showcase their products and expand their market reach.
Strategic business units from the Dangote Group participating in the trade fair include Dangote Fertiliser Limited, Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited, Dangote SinoTruck, Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Salt (NASCON), and Dangote Cement Plc.
Wali-Abdurrahman urged both public and private sector stakeholders to prioritise MSME development as a critical driver of Nigeria’s industrialisation efforts.
