A CHIEFTAIN of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Hon. Akor Simon, who is the Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Okpokwu LGA, has appealed to the police and other security agencies to investigate a ‘mysterious’ fire outbreak that engulfed his business premise and property worth millions of naira on Sunday.
A timber shade belonging to Akor, all 3 heavy duty automated sawing machines, an estimated amount of wood worth over 5 million naira, including the shade located in Ugbokolo ward of Okpokwu were gutted by the fire according to information and a video shared on WhatsApp by one Agbo Godwin.
“The shredded roofing sheets littered the entire surroundings of the business premises located along Okpoga road, just after Ugbokolo roundabout.

“He is also appealing to police and other law enforcement agencies for comprehensive and thorough investigation to unravel the root and immediate cause of the unfortunate incident.
“He pleaded with the state government to come to his aid adding that he did not know where to restart the journey of life”, Agbo stated in his WhatsApp post.
When contacted via WhatsApp for confirmation of the incident, Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Catherine Sewuese Anene, directed the victim to report the matter to the nearest police station. “Let him report to the nearest police station please”, SP Anene said.
