THE BENUE State chapters of the Nigeria Union Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), joined their counterparts in the country on the onging nationwide industrial action called by their national centres over non-implementation of a new national minimum wage by the end of May 2024.
Arising from its meeting held in the early hours of Monday, NLC state chairman, Comrade Terungwa Igbe, said a monitoring team of the organised labour was locking up government offices in compliance with the decision of the national body.

“All government offices have been closed by the monitoring team and they are still moving round to ensure compliance”, Igbe told journalists in Makurdi.
Although National Record observed that government offices including schools and banks were opened for activities as early as 8am, they may be put under lock and key later in the day when the monitoring team moves round to enforce the directive.
