GOVERNOR Hyacinth Alia on Wednesday inaugurated Benjamin Omakolo as acting chairman along with other members of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.
The inauguration fills the vacuum said to have been created by those who allegedly resigned their positions to take appointments both at the state and federal levels.
The inauguration ceremony, which was performed on Wednesday, held at a different venue other than the known APC state secretariat, which is said to be the new state secretariat, located beside Bishop’s House, High Level, Makurdi.
Governor Alia, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Paul Biam, declared at the ceremony that there is no other chairman of the party other than Omakolo.

Those inaugurated along with Omakolo include Leonard Adah Nath, Zone C youth leader; Richard Zungweve, Acting Secretary; Success Ajima, zonal chairman, Zone C; Isaiah Abah, welfare secretary; Terseer Agber, Publicity secretary; Jila Viashima, Legal Adviser and Ejeh Enyikwaleh, assistant legal adviser.
Governor Alia charged the new officials to work hard towards guaranteeing the party’s victory in the next elections.
Meanwhile, National Record gathered from a reliable source in the state chapter of the APC that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has continued to recognise Austin Agada as the authentic chairman of the party in Benue State.
