Mkeenem who announced this in a statement made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Friday said his order followed the directive issued by the Governor of the state, Rev. The State youth leader however said that those who have fenced their plots will be exempted but they should ensure that the crops do not overgrow the fences to become hideouts for criminals as earlier warned by the state government.
He urged residents of the three major towns to use this sanitation week to keep their surroundings tidy and beautify it by planting flowers to avert the aforementioned consequences.
Hon. Mkeenem reiterated that Governor Alia was concerned about the well-being of the masses in the state hence they should consider the gesture and act properly.
