BENUE State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has postponed the mass burial planned for sixteen persons massacred by suspected herdsmen militia in Wandor Community, Makyor, Gwer East LGA of Benue State on March 7, 2024.

A source from Wandor Community confided in National Record on Sunday that the mass burial which was scheduled to take place on March 5, 2024 was postponed by the governor after they had already bought caskets from Otukpo and they were conveying the caskets to the community for burial on the same day.

“He didn’t give any reason. We bought coffins from Otukpo, on our way back, we were informed of the postponement,” the source said.
