THE TWO-PART investigative report by National Record on mining pollution of water sources in Okpokwu, Ohimini and Otukpo LGAs of Benue State by a subsidiary of Dangote Group, Dangote Coal Mines Limited on Tuesday won the online category of 2025 Soyinka Award For Investigative Reporting.
The award ceremony, held Tuesday evening at the Shell Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, makes it the third award grossed by the investigative report since October.
The report‘s author, Adedokun Theophilus, had last weekend clinched the 2025 AMDF Journalist of the Year Award.
According to the 2025 AMDF Jury, the reporter demonstrated professional skills in unearthing the questionable operations of the mining company [Dangote Coal Mines Ltd.]
