AN IKEJA Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of a 47-year-old transporter, Macdonald Onyekachi, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly sodomising a 16-year-old boy.
The defendant, who resides in the Ajegunle area of Lagos, faces charges of sodomy and breach of peace.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs C.M. Kushanu, did not take the defendant’s plea.
She ordered his remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She adjourned the case until Sept. 24 for the DPP’s advice.
The Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, stated that the defendant committed the offences on June 19 at De King’s Hotel, Alakuko, Lagos.
Ademigbuji stated that the defendant lodged at the hotel and later went outside where the victim’s mother was selling food.
He stated that the defendant met the victim, who was assisting his mother, and lured him into his hotel room under the pretext of giving him money to buy an Android phone.
The prosecutor stated that the defendant had unlawful carnal knowledge of the boy through the anus and threatened him not to disclose the incident to anyone.
Ademigbuji stated that the victim later confided in his mother when he could no longer endure the pain.
The prosecutor noted that the offences contravened Sections 261 and 264 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
