THE REGISTRAR of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Mr Oladipo Ajayi, said on Thursday that the institution would host the second University Registrars Workshop to share ideas on evolving university administrative management and practices.

Ajayi who said this in Abuja, noted that the event being organised in conjunction with the Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU), would hold from April 22 to April 26.

The registrar added that the event would be an opportunity for the registrars to hold their 75th Business Meeting.

He said the event with the theme: “Sustainable Legal Framework as Panacea for Industrial Harmony in the Nigerian University System: Challenges and Remedies,” would witness the convergence of registrars from federal, state, and private universities across the country.

Ajayi added that other relevant stakeholders and eminent personalities expected to attend the dual event include Prof. Dakas C.J. Dakas who would deliver the keynote address.

Other speakers and resource persons include Ekpo Nta, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission and Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, NOUN.

Others are Mrs Helen Nyitse, immediate-past Registrar, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi and Prof. Andrew Zamani, Director, Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Malam Ibrahim Sheme, Director, Media and Publicity, NOUN, explained that the ARNU has become a valuable forum for registrars from all the universities in the country.

“ARNU aims at promoting and sustaining sound, ethical and best practices in the day-to-day administration of Nigerian universities.

“It contributes towards the development and growth of higher education in Nigeria and foster good healthy relationship among registrars and vice-chancellors of Nigerian Universities,” he said. (NAN)
