THE CASUAL staff of Government House, Makurdi who cried out over the nonpayment of their two months stipend have been paid a month’s arrear few days after National Record‘s report.
National Record had reported last Saturday the outcry by the casual workers, calling on Governor Hyacinth Alia to save the situation.
Two staff who spoke to us between Wednesday and Thursday however lamented that only a month’s stipend had been paid to some staff while others are yet to receive a dime.
According to them, the payment commenced on Monday, October 21, 2024.
“Civil servants in the state have received October salary already. But our own which is just N20,000, it’s only one-month arrears that some people have started receiving. We are still being owed two months now that October has entered”, one of the casual staff spoke on condition of anonymity.
