THE UK Parliament has said that it voted against a new national investigation into mass child rape by grooming gangs across the country.
It said that this was requested in an amendment to the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
On Jan. 2, The Telegraph reported that at least 1,000 girls had been raped by gangs of Asian men in the city of Telford.
It noted that the police have allegedly chosen not to investigate in order to avoid provoking racial tensions.
Similar crimes were also revealed in other parts of the UK.
The House of Commons voted 364-111 to reject the initiative, the voting results showed.
It said, even if the Commons had supported the national probe, the vote would not have forced the government to open the investigation, due to the parliamentary procedure, the Sky News broadcaster reported.

The probe would have hindered the government’s effort, in particular, legislation aimed at reforming the children’s care system and raising educational standards in schools, the report said.

On Jan. 3, Musk accused Starmer of being complicit in the grooming gangs scandal in the UK.
It pointed out that Starmer was the head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013, when the gang rapes were happening.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting argued that the government took the issue of child sexual exploitation incredibly seriously and suggested that Musk “roll up his sleeves and work with us.’’
