THE ABSENCE of the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Aõndona Dajoh on Tuesday has been explained as the reason for the cancellation of Tuesday’s sitting scheduled to probe the Chairman pf the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Grace Adagba.
Hon. Elias Audu, chairman, Benue State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Information, and member representing Gwer East State constituency stated this on Tuesday.
National Record had reported last week that the assembly had ordered Dr Adagba to appear before it on Tuesday by 10am to answer questions bordering on the ongoing recruitment of primary school teachers alleged to have been manipulated.

She was also ordered to refund the sum of N2.1 billion to the coffers of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Contrary to speculations on Facebook that the chairman shunned the assembly because she has governor Hyacinth Alia’s backing, Hon. Audu explained that the house could not sit because the speaker had an emergency to attend to.
“The woman really came but the speaker had an emergency. So, we shifted the sitting to Thursday,” Hon. Audu stated.
