AN obviously simple but satirical tweet on Tuesday by Senator Shehu Sani on his official Twitter handle; @ShehuSani has gone viral orchestrating further satiric tweets on the social media platform.
As at the time of this report, the tweet had been retweeted 1, 285 times, garnered 6,674 likes and quoted 87 times.
Senator Sani’s scathing remark tweeted at 2:56pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 reads: “The President should lecture Liberians on insecurity and not on security.”

The first response to the tweet came from one ‘the village chief(alexussupreme)’ @timidick66319704, who tweeted: “You can[‘t] give what you don’t have. Just before he mount the podium to give his lecture, they should introduce him by this song from”; he then tagged it with the video of Fela Kuti’s famous album; ‘Beasts of No Nation’, the verse in which the iconic Afro beat King sings of ‘dash them human right’.

Following this is another tweet by someone who was obviously either a baby or was too young when President Buhari was a military head of state; one Okoro Ugwu Nwachukwu(O’KING) @UgwuOkoro, stating, with a biblical allusion to the question posed by disciples of John the Baptist to Jesus. He tweeted: “Pls is this Buhari that overthrew Shagari or another one, because my mother told me that Buhari was a tough guy. Me: this Buhari is naïve”.

The next tweet by New Phase: @newphase1967, an obviously older person, agreeing with @UgwuOkoro, states: “I also wonder if this is the same buhari that ruled us then, that introduced war against indiscipline in all sections of the government, have price control on all goods and services, but when I think twice I see it was Idiagbon that was active then.”
The thread went on and on, with each tweet either bashing the president or sharing of caricatured pictures of some APC stalwart, and other undercurrents of prevailing political framing.
