THE member representing Ado/Ogbadigbo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr Francis Ottah Agbo, has condemned the killing of a policeman and a motorcyclist in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State and called on security agencies to investigate the killings and bring those involved to face justice.
Dr. Ottah Agbo, who is the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr. Andrew Agbese, said it is unacceptable for such criminal act to happen in any part of his constituency given the efforts made by the Benue State government and other stakeholders to secure Ado LGA and create peaceful coexistence amongst the people.
He described the killings as unwarranted and unfortunate, saying it is sad that the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the local government has been unsettled by the killing of the policeman and the motorcyclist.
Describing the perpetrators of such crimes as barefaced criminals who are emboldened by narcotic drugs, he urged government at all levels to collaborate with the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs to wage a concerted war against the menace!
He commiserated with the families of the two victims, the police, Benue State government and the people of Ado for the loss and expressed the hope that those behind the killings will not get away with their criminal acts.
The lawmaker urged the people to be vigilant and report suspicious acts, movements and strange faces in Ado to the relevant security agencies.
