THE CITY Boys Movement, on Wednesday, presented a donation of N1million to the family of the late Mr Michael Oyedokun.

Oyedokun is the teacher killed by kidnappers who abducted school teachers and children in Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota in Oriire LGA of Oyo State.

The deceased, one of the seven teachers abducted along with 39 school children on May 15, was killed while in the kidnappers’ captivity.

The Director of the Movement in Oyo State, Mr Olufemi Onireti, also during the condolence visit to the family, announced the award of scholarships to the late teacher’s sons, Abiodun and Samuel.

A statement issued by Onireti and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan said that scholarship was to support the educational pursuits of the children.

Onireti said that the movement also donated medical equipment and healthcare supplies to Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities where the abduction took place.

He said the medical supplies donated to the community would improve access to basic healthcare services and provide relief to residents.

Onireti expressed optimism that the kidnapped teachers and pupils would soon regain their freedom, noting that government authorities were actively working to secure their safe return.

He urged residents to remain hopeful and prayerful, assuring them that efforts by security agencies and relevant stakeholders were yielding positive results.

“Your children will return in peace. We share in your pain, and we will continue to pray and support you until they are reunited with their families,” he said.

The traditional ruler of Esinele, Chief Tajudeen Abioye, commended both the Federal and Oyo State Governments for their interventions and support since the unfortunate incident occurred.

Abioye specifically appreciated President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Seyi Makinde for their concern and commitment toward resolving the situation.

He appealed to the authorities to intensify and expedite actions aimed at ensuring the victims regain their freedom without delay. (NAN)
