THE MILITARY Pensions Board (MPB) has announced the appointment of AVM Mikail Abdulraheem as its new Chairman.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of MPB, Sqn.-Ldr, Aliyu Mohammed, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mohammed said the appointment marked a significant step in the board’s ongoing drive towards enhanced efficiency, transparency and improved service delivery for military retirees and their families.

According him, Abdulraheem brings with him an impressive record of professional excellence.

“A member of the 42 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, he has served the Nigerian Air Force with distinction for nearly three decades.

“He is a graduate of the prestigious National Defence College in Bangladesh and holds advanced academic qualifications including a Master’s Degree in Security Management Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and another Degree in Accounting.

“His professional affiliations extend to global and national institutions such as the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the National Institute of Accountants.

“Throughout his career, he has held critical command and financial management roles, ranging from Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Properties Limited to senior finance positions at the Defence Intelligence Agency and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

“His depth of experience in organizational leadership, fiscal administration and strategic planning uniquely positions him to elevate pension management and strengthen the welfare system for veterans,” he said.

Mohammed said the board was confident that ongoing reforms would be deepened, stakeholders’ engagement strengthened while the dignity and well-being of retired military personnel would remain at the forefront of operations. (NAN)
