THE MASEV Development Association (MASDA) in Gwer East LGA of Benue State has pleaded with the Benue State Government to either bury without further delay, the 18 persons murdered by suspected herders at Wandor, Mbaikyor, in Mbalom Council Ward of Gwer East LGA or hand over the corpses to Masev Development Association for immediate mass burial.
The plea is contained in a communiqué signed by Prof. Vearumun Tarhule and Noble Nick Ahor as MDA President General and National Secretary respectively issued at the end of the extraordinary Masev People’s Convention at community secondary, Apir in Makurdi on Monday.

MASDA stressed that if the corpses are buried, it will relieve “the bereaved families of unending uncertainties and anxieties aggravated by the delayed burial rites of their loved ones murdered a month ago”.
The group, which promised to remain law-abiding to law enforcement agencies and all properly constituted authorities in Nigeria, demanded full implementation of the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition Law to stop the influx of open “grazers” and flush out bandits displacing Masev people from their ancestral lands.
They solicited funding and infrastructural interventions from Masev people, state actors, organisations and corporate bodies for Community Secondary School, Apir, to boost the school’s basic amenities and provide the needed facilities for effective teaching and learning.
