THE KAGARKO LGC has reaffirmed its commitment to workers’ welfare following a sensitisation visit by the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The NLC delegation, led by its Chairman, Comrade Ayuba Suleiman, visited Kagarko as part of its sensitisation tour of the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.
The sensitisation programme focused on strengthening industrial harmony, improving service delivery and sustaining cordial relations between organised labour and the Kaduna Government.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council, Muhuyideen Umar, commended the NLC leadership for the initiative.
Umar said the Kaduna State Government had prioritised workers’ welfare, job security and the growth of the Local Government Unified Service.
He described job security as one of the greatest assurances any responsible government could provide to workers.
According to him, workers have continued to enjoy industrial peace, constructive engagement with labour unions and deliberate reforms strengthening the Local Government Unified Service.
He said the achievements should be sustained through continued collaboration between government and organised labour.
Umar urged workers to continue supporting Gov. Uba Sani’s administration and his second-term bid to consolidate existing achievements and create more development opportunities across Kaduna State.
He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration among government, labour unions and traditional institutions would promote productivity, peace and sustainable development.
The chairman reaffirmed the council’s commitment to working with organised labour and other stakeholders to improve workers’ welfare and strengthen local government administration in Kagarko.
In his remarks, NLC Chairman, Suleiman, reaffirmed the union’s commitment to protecting workers’ welfare and promoting industrial harmony across the state.
Suleiman said the sensitisation tour was timely and would strengthen the relationship between the NLC, its affiliate unions and workers in all the 23 local government areas. (NAN)
