THE gubernatorial flagbearer of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Hon. Sharon Dabo Fiase, popularly known as Wan Dabo, has said that Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State is being too aggressive to President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.

Hon. Dabo bared her mind on this burning issue last week in Makurdi while fielding questions from newsmen on how she will tackle insecurity bedeviling Benue if elected governor of the state in the forthcoming general elections to be held on 25th February, 2023.

The former House of Representatives member for Jechira federal constituency opined that the confrontational approach adopted by Governor Ortom was worsening the security situation in the state and promised to use a subtle method and to rapport better with the federal government and the parties involved, “the Fulanis” if elected governor of the state.

She asserted: “What love can achieve, war cannot achieve. Come to think of it, even the World War, where did it end? On the roundtable of peace. That’s where it begins to end.

“Our Governor, His Excellency Ortom, is doing a fantastic job but I would say he is using a confrontational method which is obviously not the best and I want to appeal to him that the president is the president, he is a father, he is a leader as well.

“So, I want to appeal to him to continue this fight to preserve Benue State as he is doing and I doff my hat for him. I respect him unconditionally and I have always stood by him in this fight but it’s only the approach that I am pleading with our father, His Excellency Ortom, to kindly change to a more subtle one.

“I’m sure if he speaks to the president in a more subtle way, he will be able to achieve better results on insecurity”.

As part of her efforts to end insecurity in Benue, the ZLP guber candidate said, she will involve all indigenes of the state in the fight against the menace.

“We are all going to join hands. I’m going to ask all Benue indigenes to join hands with me to tackle it by giving information on fishy characters around that are noticed to be security agents because if you don’t and the evil comes to your doorstep, it will be too bad”, Wan Dabo said.
