JIGAWA State governor, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, has described former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) as a symbol of unity and beacon of nationalism who worked for unity and development of Nigeria.

IBB served as the nation’s military President from 1985 to 1993. He will be 80 years tomorrow, Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
In a congratulatory message signed by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media, Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro, Governor Abubakar noted that having successfully navigated through 80 years of life as a military officer, military president and now elder statesman, General Babangida is an embodiment of experience, wisdom and legendary leadership.
“His impeccable record of service to God and country will continue to serve as a reference point for countless generations,” the governor said adding: “On this auspicious occasion of your 80th birthday anniversary, I heartily join your family, friends and associates across the globe to celebrate yet another year of God’s favour upon you in an illustrious life’s journey.”
The governor prayed Almighty God to grant IBB many more years in good health so that he can continue his selfless service to his fatherland and mentoring the younger generation.
