Governor Alia Flags Off Infrastructure Projects In Makurdi

BENUE State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Monday flagged off the construction of sixteen (16) roads within Makurdi, the state capital.

Performing the ceremony at Wurukum market, Makurdi, the governor said the construction of 16 roads measuring 15. 39 Km within the metropolis marked a significant milestone in his commitment to revolutionise the infrastructure of Benue State.

Governor Alia expressed optimism that the construction of the roads will not only improve transportation within the city but also create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth.

Alia, who commended the Ministry of Works and Transport for its dedication and diligence in planning the projects, urged them to maintain the highest level of professionalism in supervising the work.

He charged the contractor, Tracta Nigeria Limited, to adhere to the specific requirements and complete the work within the stipulated time frame of eleven (11) months.

Earlier, Project Engineer, Nabil Nassar, appreciated the governor for trusting Tracta Nigeria Limited with the project and promised to dedicate their time and complete the project within the agreed time frame.

The roads to be constructed include: Odeh-Ageh to John Feese streets with spur to Kuma Abanyam and Othaniel Taangahar streets, Orkuma Akunda Street, Lush Street and Augustinian Community Road within New GRA Makurdi 

At Adeke/Achusa part of Makurdi, the roads to be constructed include Nigerian Navy Barracks road and Keghem Malu Street.

In the Wurukum part of Makurdi, the roads include David Jebe Street, Kornya City Guest House to Akpehe, Tyagher Gbaa street, Victoria Aende Street and Keke Napep Street.

Other roads to be constructed are 

Ghandi Street and Federal Low-Coast Housing Road in North Bank suburb of Makurdi, Iorkyaa Ako Street (Extension) at High Level as well as Ikeja – Sokoto Street in Wadata area of Makurdi.

Governor Alia also flagged of the renovation of the Benue State secretariat Complex on the same day.
