GOVERNOR Hyacinth Alia last weekend announced a major shakeup in the management of Lobi Stars Football Club, Makurdi, relieving his deputy, Sam Ode, and former Nigerian international, Dominic Iorfa, of their positions as Vice Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of the club respectively.

In a statement by his Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Mr Solomon Iorpev, the governor, who returned Lobi Stars to the direct supervision of the Benue Sports Council, constituted a six-man board under the chairmanship of Dr. Philip Nongu to manage the club.
The governor directed that handovers be completed before 12 midnight Saturday.
“The Executive Governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has directed that with immediate effect, the Lobi Stars FC be under Benue Sports Council.
“A new Board of Lobi Stars FC has also been constituted. The membership includes: Dr. Philip Nongu – Chairman
“ii. Dr. Iorngulum Malu – Secretary
“iii. Chief Solomon Andiir – Member
“iv. Mr. Harry Yachi – Member
“v. Mr. Francis Ejiga – Member
“vi. Sir James Iorpuu – Govt. Reps
“The Governor has directed that all Management handovers must be completed before midnight today, Saturday, September 7, 2024″, the statement read.
