Gov. Alia Congratulates Chef Naira Victor Over Record 135-Hour Cooking Marathon

GOVERNOR Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Monday congratulated Benue-born chef, Victor Tartenger, popularly known as Chef Naira Victor, for successfully embarking on the longest cooking marathon of 135 hours, code named “Cook-A-Thon” which he completed on Sunday but awaiting the recognition in the Guinness World Records.

Chef Naira Victor reportedly commenced Cook-A-Thon last Tuesday, February 27 and ended on Sunday, March 3, 2024.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chef, whose age was yet to be confirmed by National Record as at press time, donated over 70 per cent of his prepared food to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Monday, Governor Alia expressed excitement on the resilient spirit which the chef has proven that nothing can stand in his way when it comes to accomplishing his dreams, describing the young chef as “a victor who is tenacious, determinant [sic] and a go getter”.

The governor expressed optimism that Chef Naira Victor’s milestone is just a steppingstone for more successes to come and encouraged him never to stop believing in himself but stay focused as he pursues his career.

Kula disclosed that Governor Alia had earlier paid a solidarity visit to the chef and applauded Benue people and all well spirited individuals for drumming support to the chef to make his dream a reality. He implored Benue people to imbibe the euphoria of sportsmanship and unity as shown to the Benue son, assuring of his government’s support to uplifting the youths as part of his campaign promises in youth empowerment.
