THE GOVERNOR of Benue State, Rev. Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Aber Serumun Deborah as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) following the resignation of Prof. Joseph Alakali.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alia, Tersoo Kula, Prof. Alakali tendered his letter of resignation Monday, stating that he needed time to address personal challenges.
Accepting the resignation, Gov. Alia was said to have expressed gratitude to Alakali for serving the state under his administration for a year and three months.
The governor wished Alakali who hails from Kwande local government well and prayed to God to grant him “the strength to tackle the many challenges he has chosen to address”.
Alia described the new SSG, Aber, a graduate of the University of Jos and Nasarawa State University as a trustworthy team-player, seasoned solicitor and arbitrator with a strong sense of initiative and excellent analytical skills.
