GOVERNOR of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved a fresh round of appointments into key government agencies and parastatals across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, who noted that the appointments are in line with the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition public institutions for improved efficiency, accountability, and effective service delivery.
According to the statement, the newly appointed officials were chosen based on their track records of competence, dedication, and integrity.
Governor Alia who congratulated the new appointees urged them to approach their new responsibilities with diligence and commitment to his administration’s vision of transforming Benue State.
He also directed the outgoing acting Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Board and the acting Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service to report back to the Head of Service for reassignment.
In the same vein, the outgoing acting General Manager of the Benue State Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management Authority (BENSESSA) is to return to the governor’s office.
National Record‘s background search found that the appointments, which take effect from Monday, July 7, 2025, include: Anta Igbaato from Gwer West as Acting General Manager of the Benue State Sanitation Authority; Bem Tseen from Kwande as Acting Executive Secretary of Benue State Teaching Service Board; Joseph Kwaghgba from Gboko as Acting Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service, and Professor Ode Boniface Ogbu from Obi as provost, College of Education, Oju.
Others are Professor Qrisstuberg Msughter Amua from Konshisha as Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ihugh; Dr. Johnson Ijale Echor from Obi as Registrar of the same institution; Mr. James Ormye from Gboko as Bursar; Dr. Demekaa Umbur from Vandeikya will serve as Librarian; and Dr. Tyodoo Iyue from Katsina-Ala has been appointed Provost of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala.
While Obi and Gboko LGAs got double slots, many local governments were not as lucky.
Governor Alia reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the machinery of government and ensuring that institutions are staffed by qualified individuals capable of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Benue State.
