ALL IS set for a grand civic reception to host six eminent personalities by the Abuja branch of EDEMA Development Association on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
The event, which is scheduled to hold at the Candellux Imperial Hotel in Abuja from 1-6pm, is organised to honour the individuals for attaining the peak in their individual careers and exceptional contributions and positive impact in their various communities particular and Edumoga District in general.
The honourees include Ambassador Nicholas Ella, the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Air Vice Marshal Stephen Onuh (Rtd), Barr. Cletus Ojabo, retired Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Odo, Deputy Clerk, National Assembly, Professor Emmanuel Ejeikwu, Director, …Yakubu Gowon University (formerly University of Abuja) and Professor Paul Onuh, Head, Department of Constitutional Law, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
The event, according to the programme, will feature a keynote address on the topic: “The Complementary Roles of Socio-Cultural Organisations in Promoting Community Development” which will be delivered by Chief (Engr) Peter Okpe
To be chaired by Right Honourable David Onobi Idoko, former Member, House of Representatives, the event will also feature speeches and goodwill messages from eminent sons and daughters of Edumoga District, including the branch chairman of EDEMA, Dr (Barr.) Simon Okpeh Alleh, His Royal Highness, Chief Ochechema Ojoh Emmanuel, Mr Michael Oko Agbam, the National President of EDEMA.
The popular war dance, Oglinya, which Edumoga is uniquely known for, will also be performed amongst other cultural displays to herald the citations and awards to the honourees.
EDEMA, a foremost socio-cultural organisation of Edumoga District in Okpokwu LGA of Benue State, was inaugurated in the 1970s.
