…Appointed Chairman Of Digital Literacy Technical Committee

THE PRESIDENT/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. David Daser, has reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s goal of achieving 95% digital literacy nationwide by 2030.
This declaration follows Daser’s recent appointment as Chairman of the newly formed National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee by the Federal Government.
The announcement of Daser was made by the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, during a two-day workshop themed “Building Sustainability Towards Achieving 95% Digital Literacy Level by 2030.”
The event, held in Abuja from April 29–30, was organized by NITDA and attended by key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, formally inaugurated Daser and other committee members.
According to a statement by DBI’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Akin Ogunlade, Daser’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the institute, recognizing his tireless leadership and dedication to advancing digital inclusion in Nigeria.
During his goodwill message on the second day of the workshop, Daser commended NITDA and its Director-General for their visionary leadership in driving Nigeria’s digital transformation.
He reiterated DBI’s unwavering commitment to supporting the 95% digital literacy target by 2030.
The National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee includes representatives from prominent organizations such as: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), ENGAUSA, and GIZ, among others.
The event also saw the participation of top government officials, including: Hon. Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State for Education, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs.
All three ministers voiced strong support for Nigeria’s digital empowerment vision.
Additionally, DBI’s Head of Learning and Development, who spoke on behalf of the institute on the first day, reinforced DBI’s strategic alignment with national and global digital literacy initiatives.
He emphasized that DBI remains a key driver of inclusive digital capacity building and a proud partner in shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
