NIGERIAN culinary professional, Hilda Baci, has achieved a new international milestone with the official confirmation of a Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
The Guinness World Records organisation formally announced the achievement via its official communications platform, X (formerly Twitter).
The post confirmed that Chef Baci, in collaboration with the brand Gino, successfully prepared a serving of jollof rice weighing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds and 9 ounces).
The record was set on September 12, 2025, at an event held on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria.
The culinary feat was the centrepiece of the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival,’ a large-scale public event hosted at the Eko Hotels and Suites. The festival drew a significant audience of thousands and was the subject of extensive discussion across social media platforms.
This accomplishment further solidifies Chef Baci’s status as a leading figure in the global culinary community. She first gained international recognition in 2023 by setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
The event garnered support from notable public figures, including actress Funke Akindele, influencers Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Tomike Adeoye, clergyman Pastor Idowu, and Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor.
