THE BENUE State House of Assembly on Wednesday passed into law a supplementary budget in the sum of one hundred and seventy billion, eight hundred and ninety-four million, four hundred and seventy-three thousand, one hundred and thirty-three naira (₦170,894,473,133).
The session was presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh.
With the approval of the supplementary appropriation bill, the state’s cumulative budget for 2024 now stands at (N396, 621, 868, 343) billion, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr Terver Zamber.
The passage of the budget followed the consideration of the report from the Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the Supplementary Appropriation Bill presented during the assembly’s plenary session.
Presenting the report, the committee chairman, Hon. Cephas Dyako reminded lawmakers that the 2024 approved revenue of two hundred and twenty-five billion, seven hundred and twenty-seven million, three hundred and ninety-five thousand, two hundred and six naira, ninety-seven kobo (N225,727,395,206.97) only, was increased by one hundred and seventy billion, eight hundred and ninety four million, four hundred and seventy three thousand, one hundred and thirty five naira, nine kobo only bringing the 2024 revised estimates to (396, 621,868,343) billion naira only.
